Leopard Love
Posted by Stephen Payne | Filed under Restorations
Well, its been a hard weekend as usual up in the depot, as the de-hibernation from the winter takes place, along with kicking off our first project of 2008, which is the 1979 Plaxton Supreme Leopard which was donated to the society last week.
Having been washed, cleaned and checked over, some minor problems attended to she will be in line for a DOE within the next month, in order to have her on the road for March 2nd. She is in really good condition, as is with any of the St. Kevin’s fleet, and is still in PSV till April!!
Small extras like a reversing camera have been added over the years, but this adds to the vehicles history and I’m sure will come into great use as this coach is returned to the road for further use.
We have decided on an appropriate name for her also, as she joins Suzi in the leopard gang, we have named her Lucy. A very fitting name indeed!
Have a good week and see you all on Friday!

New Acquisition - 79 MN 522
Posted by Aaron Donohoe | Filed under Acquisitions
Although the photo doesn’t do it justice, our latest aquisition 79 MN 522 is a superb example of a Supreme IV. Formely owned by Wallace Arnold, it ended its service career with St. Kevin’s - Glendalough. It has now been acquired by the Motor Vehicle Preservation Society of Ireland for futher use. After a complete mechanical and structural inspection, it has been found it requires little more than a good clean and polish. Externally it requires one panel to be repaired, and internally requires nothing - as can been seen from the below photo.
